I live in the beautiful state of Washington. Some favorite activities of mine are waterskiing, hiking with my family, reading, doing ministry, and working with kids.
When I was four years old, I realized that my sin separated me from the one true God (Romans 6:23, Jeremiah 10:10), who alone is holy (Rev. 15:4) and the Creator of all things (Gen. 1:1). I asked for His forgiveness, and accepted the free gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9) through His Son Jesus Christ, who died for me on the cross and rose again three days later (Romans 5:8, 1 Cor. 15:3-4). As a child of God (John 1:12), I desire to live for Him, serving and glorifying Him in all that I do. God has used music in many ways to teach me about His glory, His creativity and His majesty. I started taking piano lessons when I was eight, and added flute lessons when I was twelve. I am thrilled to practically and creatively use what I've learned in my own studio. Some of my favorite music memories are accompanying children's choirs, playing for church while my dad leads music, and making music with my siblings gathered round the piano. My music mountain peak is when I get to play while others sing. From being in a youth symphony to accompanying church congregations, ensemble opportunities are my favorite part of playing music. I love teaching what I love to do. Seeing my students grow in their music and incorporate it in real-life opportunities is a joy to see! I am a nationally certified teacher of music (NCTM) and have my Bachelor of Arts in Music. I love being able to put into practice what I've learned as well as continuing to grow in my own music education. I desire to use my music as a tool to glorify God and to point others to Him. "To You, O Lord, I will make music." Psalm 101:1 |
